Registration and talks will take place in the Arts Building on the Edgbaston Campus, and the plenary lectures and lunches are in the University Centre. Train

Travelling by train is a very convenient way to reach the university. Served by its own station, University, there are trains every 10 minutes between the university and Birmingham New Street at most times of day. Trains at New Street with destinations Longbridge or Redditch all stop at the university, unless specifically stated.

The walk from the station to the department takes five minutes. Turn left on exiting the station, cross the road once it starts to bear left and head down the pedestrian zone towards Staff House. Follow the path under Staff House and keep walking straight until another building sits across the path. The Arts building is adjacent to the University library; click on the image below to see the route.

Trains from certain places may stop at Birmingham Moor Street instead of Birmingham New Street. Getting to New Street is straightforward, turn left on exiting the station and cross over the road, then follow the edge of the Bullring through the underpass to station.

Air

If you arrive in Birmingham by plane there are regular trains from Birmingham International to New Street station, from where you can follow the instructions above. Travelling by taxi from the airport will take about 20 minutes and cost at least £20.

If you are arriving at any other airport in the U.K., train is most likely the easiest way to get to the university. In particular, trains leave London Euston for New Street frequently and take around an hour and a half.
